We've lived through our fair share of devastating celebrity breakups: Britney and Justin, Brad and Jen, Pete Davidson and, well, everyone.
But never has an A-lister's relationship status had such an effect on the parasocial masses quite like Taylor Swift's.
Following this weekend's news that the singer and her longtime boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, had parted ways after six years together, Taylor Swift fans have been going far beyond the typical laments on social media, taking their grief off the internet and, quite literally, into the street.
Cornelia Street, to be exact.
Yes, Swifties have reportedly flooded the quiet Greenwich Village block to mourn the star's breakup in front of her former townhouse, holding vigil and even leaving flowers at the home despite the fact that she neither died nor lives there anymore.
Of course, the street has served as a Taylor-themed pilgrimage for years, since she also penned an eponymous song in reference to it. So the lyrics, apparently dedicated to Joe, go, "And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends/I'd never walk Cornelia Street again."
We get the sentiment, sure, but we imagine the new residents, who are paying around $45,000 a month for the place, are less than pleased about their front door being turned into a breakup memorial...
