The growing gap between the rich and poor
I don't know about you, but when I think about the number of million dollar apartments that sit unoccupied, driving up the price of rent in NYC, while their billionaire owners have fun in a far far away land, oblivious of the havoc they've wreaked on the economic atmosphere of this city they might visit every other month, I really wanna die.
Then, when I think about the people that actually have to choose between buying dinner and taking the subway home because the MTA keeps hiking fares, I wanna die even harder.
While most people (myself included) reading this will probably fall between the two extremes, know (even though it will probably give you an ulcer) that though many little annoyances affect all of us, very few of us have to bear the brunt of extreme poverty in a city that is becoming more and more financially inhospitable. So there.
