Schmidt's Confectionery
Queens residents probably know of Schmidt’s Candy, aka the spot for some of the best homemade chocolate you can get your hands on. The family-owned shop has been around since 1925 and the current owner, Margie Schmidt, still uses the recipes passed down from her grandfather to make chocolate creations in-house. Rumor has it that you shouldn’t leave the store without buying chocolate covered Oreos, nuts, graham crackers and jellies. Yum.
