The Judd Foundation

Former resident of this Spring street apartment, Donald Judd, believed in "permanent installation," the idea that art gains as much meaning from its context as it does from the art object itself. Basically, part of the artwork is its environment. The space, and the art installed in it, has remained unchanged since Judd's death, making the apartment essentially a chrysalis of New York circa 1968, when Judd purchased the building.
