At an event packed with drool-worthy sophisticates like Wyclef Jean, Russell Simmons, Meera Ghandi, Soledad O'Brien and the unreasonably beautiful Miss Universe, Stefanía Fernández Krupij, it's not hard to continue hating yourself and the injustice that is your flawed mug as they write a fat check for impoverished Latin-American indigenous people.-
The dinner and live auction took place at the chic Stephan Weiss Studio at Urban Zen last night, and benefited the lives, traditions, and cultures of South American peeps. The Wayuu Taya Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 by model/actress - aren't they all - Patricia Velasquez and directly benefits the Wayuu group of northern Colombia and northwest Venezuela. Since the devastating earthquake in ridiculously impoverished Haiti, the foundation has generously expanded its efforts through the Help Haiti Hope Initiative.
It comes as second nature for me to bark at these privileged, THIN, elite because I am broke, and thin (not by choice). But considering that they are donating to the poor, I'll refrain from expressing my discontent, Miss Universe!
