Metropolitan Opera Premiere Is Black, White, And Tan All Over

Did Maggie Gyllenhaal, Camilla Belle, Chloe Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin all call each other before last night's premiere of Armida at the Metropolitan Opera to coordinate their outfits? Probably not, the stars at last night's black tie event did make a rather pretty tableau in their uniform whites, blacks, and tans.-

VIP guests had dinner in the Dress Circle before heading in to watch Mary Zimmerman's production of the Rossini opera, which stars New York's favorite Soprano, Renee Fleming. Afterwards, patrons, singers and guests gathered for an afterparty where Ms.Fleming, in green YSL, of course, chatted with her many admirers.

Other attendees included Hamish Bowles, Bette Midler, Patricia Clarkson, Emily Mortimer, Fabiola Beracasa, Romanian opera star Angela Gheorghiu, and John Lithgow.

This is the third opera gala sponsored by Yves Saint Laurent.
