Other details: Last night, on the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, overlooking stunning views of Central Park and iconic Manhattan skyscrapers, the Pratt Institute held the Legends 2013 Gala to Benefit Pratt Student Scholarships. In an effort to raise money to provide up to 80 percent of Pratt students with merit or need-based scholarships to further their education and creative ambitions, New York's elite gathered for a cocktail hour and dinner that honored four specific leaders in art, design and the written word: David Easton, Pete Hamill, Margaret Russell, and James Turell. With two open bars, passed hor d'oeuvres, and a live jazz band, guests enjoyed a classy and extravagant cocktail hour that was only a precursor to the sensational dinner to come.
