Last Night's Parties: Fashion Elite Celebrate Models Of Versailles, Tiffany & Debbie Gibson Duke It Out

    Those who think all the fun is happening at Sundance are wrong. There is plenty going on around NYC! Oscar de la Renta looks back to 1973, 80's pop icons duke it out in fist-to-face combat, Swarovski celebrates pretty things and everything's coming up roses. What else happened last night?

    Dinner honoring Manish Arora and his new jewelry collection for Swarovski Crystallized

    Where: Cafe Kristall at Swarovski

    Who Was There: Manish Arora, Mira Nair, Waris Ahluwalia, Prabal Gurung, Patricia Fields, Rachel Roy, Fabiola Beracasa, Fern Mallis, Mickey Boardman

    Other Details: The fashion set came out to fete Manish Aurora, a designer well known for his bold color palette, and his partnership with Swarovski to create a line of pendants, necklaces and tee shirts. PAPER magazine's Mickey Boardman Tweeted that the evening was, "Soooo glamorous." [Via]

    Other Details: Manhattan Theatre Club’s Winter Benefit "An Intimate Night" brought out Broadway stars for a good cause. There were cocktails, dinner and an original show directed by MTC’s Artistic Director Lynne Meadow, featuring Laura Benanti.

    Where: Ziegfeld Theater

    Who Was There: "Downtown" Julie Brown, Tiffany, Taylor Dane and Debbie Gibson

    Other Details: Produced by Syfy, Tiffany plays a park ranger and Gibson an animal rights activist who  huddle together in a tiny metal storage shack and battle giant alligators. Seriously. This morning they were overlooked for Oscar, but no matter. [Via]

    Here Tiffany and Debbie get into a serious cat fight that involves smashing each other's faces in pies and hurling each other over tables. Hey, remember when you looked up to and desperately wanted to be one of these ladies? Be happy you didn't get your wish. Electric Youth apparently doesn't last forever.

    The MET Hosts a tribute to the models of VERSAILLES 1973

    Who Was There: Estelle, Emil Wilbeki, Mickey Boardman, Star Jones, Oscar de la Renta, Amy Collins, Lizzie Tisch, Annette de la Renta, Donna Karan, Anna Sui, Stephen Burrows, Kelly Bensimon, Desiree Rogers

    Other Details: Stephen Burrows congratulated the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Celebration of Models for the famed 1973 Versailles Fashion Show. The show included a  multicultural group of models; Bethann Hardison, Pat Cleveland, Alva Chinn, Billie Blair, Norma Jean Darden, Barbara Jackson, China Machado, Ramona Saunders and Amina Warsuma wearing the collections of  Burrows, Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta, Halston and Anne Klein and represented American collections alongside celebrated French couturiers, making it a huge breakthrough moment for American fashion.     Other Details: It may be snowing but spring is in the air.  Will Ryman celebrated his site-specific art installation “The Roses,” which will be unveiled on Jan. 25. It will cover 10 blocks of Park Avenue with an unseasonable crop of giant pink and red rose blossoms. [Via]
