Other details: Last night, the New York Junior League celebrate seven woman responsible for carrying out the organization's mission of promoting volunteerism and developing woman and children in New York City. The event, held at The Pierre hotel, was the 62nd Winter Ball with a theme of “Enchantment in the Secret Garden.” The legendary event celebrated 113 years of community service with over 500 guests. This year's recipients of the Outstanding Volunteer and Sustainer awards included Outstanding Sustainers Nancy Geer Blackford and Gregg Deane Swain and Outstanding Volunteers Robin L. Body, Colleen L. Caden, Lauren Jenkins Chung, Anne-Marie Peterson McMahon and Amanda Koenig Stone, which are the highest honor the New York Junior League bestows on its members.
The black tie event included a cocktail reception, seated dinner, and dancing in the Cotillion Ballroom of The Pierre. The silent auction included various items like designer clothing, jewelry, vacation getaways, spa treatments and sports memorabilia. The New York Junior League raised over $58,000 through the live auction and live donation, with additional money being raised through the silent auction.
