Other Details: The New York Philharmonic presented Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's Company starring the lovable Neil Patrick Harris and Patti LuPone. Also involved-Stephen Colbert, Martha Plimpton, Anika Noni Rose , Jim Walton, Jon Cryer and other big time names you are likely to know even if you never venture to the Great White Way. Stephen Colbert threw Martha Plimpton in the air and caught her, then kicked up his legs for a chorus line! It's only running for three days but will be filmed for release. [Via]

Other Details: Taj Mahal opened up the performance followed by icons Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton. They  played works from Howling Wolf and Ma Rainey to Fats Waller and Louis Armstrong. @Mclaren958 Tweeted: "At the gala for jazz at lincoln center ....eric clapton and Wynton Marsalis = one of the most amazing things I have ever seen." The Honorary Dinner Chair was Michael Stipe and Honorary Benefit Committee Chair was Jimmy Fallon.  Jon Stewart served as the evening's special guest, while Sarah McLachlan gave a special performance.
