City Readers' 4th Annual Fundraiser
Where: The Garden of Norwood
Other details: City Readers hosted its 4th Annual Fundraiser Saturday afternoon, where close to 70 friends and young philanthropists gathered to celebrate the nonprofit's continued efforts to promote literacy and reading in New York City schools. Held in the intimate and beautiful garden of the private club Norwood, the soiree brought together an eclectic group of authors, artists, investors, bankers, lawyers, entrepreneurs, techies, and media insiders for a noteworthy cause.
Welcoming remarks provided by Brittany Tuber, the Head of the Lower School at the Growing Up Green Charter School in Queens, reminded partygoers of the important difference their support makes providing books and libraries for New York City schools, while City Readers Co-Founder and Chairman, John Z. Fang, and Co-Founder and CEO, Sarah Ingram, both spoke of their experiences working with various partner schools in New York City through the organization. By the end of the night, guests helped raise enough funds for the foundation of Growing Up Green Charter School's sixth grade library, providing a jump start to the school's continued growth efforts.
