Magnum Contact Sheets Exhibition Opening

Other details: Last night Milk Gallery presented the new exhibit, Magnum Contact Sheets with a private opening party before opening to the public today. The exhibit featured famous photographs alongside their contact sheets, aka the proof sheets for rolls of film which photographers used to look at before selecting the shot they would use. Though they aren't used much in the digital age, the exhibit was a fascinating look at the photographers' process before landing on the final selection. Photos and contact sheets by renowned photographers including Martin Parr, David Seymour, Dennis Stock, and more were displayed throughout the gallery. As guests sipped on Stella Artois beer and wine and listened to tunes by DJ G*Lee, they observed some of the striking images including a distinct shot of Muhammad Ali, a sultry shoot of Sophia Loren, and a large contact sheet of a nonchalant Che Guevara.
