From the Inbox: Party Animals Voter's Guide

by CHRISTOPHER CONFESSORE · November 3, 2008

We're lucky to have so many well-informed friends! This landed in our inbox, a great last-minute guide, which we were thinking of putting together ourselves, but our friends at BrooklynRoyalty did such a good job, we'll just show you theirs:

    Last-Minute Voting Tips:

Make sure you are registered to vote at your current address, canivote.org (a non-partisan resource)

Find out where your polling place is- HERE

Find out what ID you'll need when you go to cast your ballot:

If you are a new voter who is registering by mail, you will be required to show identification when you go to vote for the first time. If you are already registered at the board of elections or a state agency, you should not have to show identification at the polls. It is advisable for all new voters to bring identification when voting for the first time. Acceptable IDs to to vote are: # Passport # Driver's License # Voter Registration Card # Government ID card # Student ID card Non-Photo IDs accepted: Utility Bill, Bank Statement, Paycheck (go to vote411.com for more info)

Be Ready For Anything: # Anticipate Long Lines at your Polling Place (budget more time than you need!) # Prevent Voting Machine Problems (here's a video to show you how!) # Don’t Wear Political T-Shirts in support of your candidate. In most states, “political activity” is not allowed within 50 feet of a building used for voting. If you must wear your Obama or McCain gear, make sure you have a jacket or something else to cover it with.

We will be posting aroundup of some of the best places to watch the elections tomorrow!
