One of the loveliest, chicest spots in Gramercy, Maialino is an absolutely perfect place to push around an absolutely less than perfect afternoon and dig in to a beyond perfect brunch. Another Italian trattoria style treat from Danny Meyer, Maialino's love for vowels is only outdone by its love for pastries. Olive Oil Muffins. Bacon Toffee Glazed Brioche Buns. Pistachio Croissants. They've got it bad, and so will you. But what's a pastry without a sturdy, hardy breakfast pairing? Thankfully their Stone Cut Oatmeal with apricots and fresh cream is a great go-to. Or, there is always my favorite, Farina Dolce, which is a warm, cream of wheat with caramelized bananas.
