What: A few years ago New York Magazine's Adam Platt referenced "the David Chang Model"
when reviewing Jesse Schenker's Recette. That comparison still remains to be seen, but he sure edges closer with the new Flatiron restaurant The Gander. While Recette was tucked away in a quiet corner of the West Village, The Gander joins culinary heavyweights in the Flatiron, and Schenker is up to the challenge. New American staples like Pork Chop and a Rotisserie Chicken add to his signature small plate dishes, including French Fries with Bone Marrow Mayo which are bound to form loyalists in no time.
