Who doesn't want to appear all grown-up and seem like they're all about their health? Blaming someone else is a certifiable way to get out of date, but giving off the cool vibe that you are dedicated to your training schedule is completely respectable. Saying "Oh, I have a training sesh sooo early," is an excuse that a date can't argue with. Chances are he wants you to stay lookin' hot, after all.
