A Smythson Diary Is The Only Thing You Need For A Chic Year Ahead

Another year, another Smythson diary scribbled sloppily with dinners, trips and black tie balls...

'Tis the season for getting one's shit together, and for me personally, that means stressing out over which style and color notebook I'll be carting around town for the next 365 days.

When it comes to planners and notebooks, Smythson is simply the only respectable option. 

2022 was a Premier Fashion Agenda in Nile Blue kind of vibe. Simple, classic, straight to the point.

2023 was a Soho Agenda in Black mood. Very serious, down to business.

2024 - I've a feeling, and don't hold me to it - will be a Soho Agenda in Mara Red mood. She's on a mission and coming in hot, you know?

Sure, everything you'll ever do or need to remember is almost certainly already in your Google calendar, but in a world where work can and will reach you 24/7, it's quite the treat to separate your social engagements from your professional obligations.

At the start of every week I make a habit of jotting down any actually fun events or plans that I've got on tap. No noting boring things like calls or meetings, just the fun stuff. Keeping track of books read and gossip spread in the margins.

After all, years from now when your biographer is sorting through your papers trying to get a handle on your life, don't you want to have left behind a most entertaining trail for them to follow?
