Hannah Bronfman may be a fitness icon, but she’s also a living testament to the fact that a “healthy” lifestyle means balance—you don’t have to let the gym take over to the point that it leaves no room for the other things in life that give you joy. Bronfman’s multidimensionality is a product of her ability to bring the things she loves—style, beauty, working out, travel, family life, and a great cocktail or glass of wine—together in a way that actually makes sense. Of course, we were totally unsurprised when her meditation, sound bath, and wine tasting experience with NTM Sound and Liquid Light was announced earlier this summer. Here’s everything you need to know about channeling your inner Hannah in your own everyday life.
Tell us all about the sound bath party!
I am currently working with Liquid Light and it’s been so fun! The sound bath and wine tasting experience was something we came up with together. I thought that a sound bath would be the perfect pairing for a relaxing evening in the city and the guests seemed to have a great time.
Can you share the benefits of sound baths for those who might be unfamiliar?
I’ve been a fan of sound baths as a way to carve out a moment of self-care and get into a deep relaxation. It’s a form of meditation where you listen to different sounds and vibrations to help relax you. There are so many benefits of sound baths for your mental wellbeing such as, reducing stress and anxiety, increase in clarity, relieving tension, and improvement in sleep from being in a deep state of relaxation.
How did you incorporate the wines into the event? Can you share a bit about Liquid Light and why you chose to work with this brand specifically?
I’ve tried many low cal, low sugar/zero sugar wines and I always found that they didn’t taste similar to a true glass of wine, which Liquid Light wines do. Both Liquid Light Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc are healthier wine options, only 95 calories per 5oz, but still taste like a quality glass of wine. Liquid Light wines are lower-calorie and have no added sugar. The Sauvignon Blanc is my favorite of the two because of its fruity flavor without being too sweet. It’s a perfect option for summer!
"Do what feels good" is, of course, your mantra—can you share how this applies to striking a balance between living an active and healthy lifestyle without denying yourself things like wine?
I believe in listening to your body and what it craves to function properly and live a healthy lifestyle. You can live a healthy, active lifestyle while also indulging in things in moderation or finding healthier alternatives for various foods and drinks you enjoy. For example, if I want to have a glass of wine at a social gathering or with dinner on a random Tuesday night, I will, and I’ll reach for Liquid Light because I know it’s a healthier wine option. Restricting can often lead to overindulging and it’s not sustainable. You gotta satisfy those cravings sometimes and just live life!
Given the current state of politics in this country (and all that's led up to it), self-care seems more important than ever. Can you share some thoughts for activists and advocates on why taking care of their bodies and minds is so essential during times like these?
Our country is in a very dark and devastating place which weighs heavily on all of us as a society. Collectively, we want to do as much as we can to speak out against all of the systemic issues in our country by showing up to rallies, joining advocacy groups, continuously spreading awareness among our communities and, while doing all that, it is easy to forget to recharge and carve out moments of self-care. Taking a break to recharge doesn’t mean you aren’t doing the work, it just means that you are focusing on yourself so you can continue to do the work and fight for change without facing burnout. Some self-care tips I have are to meditate, move your body once a day, read a book or journal, and take a bath with a glass of wine!
