As Annie mentions in her book, using locally grown and seasonal ingredients incorporated within each recipe is key. What a great chance to spend some time in your local markets to see what is in season and a chance to support local farmers. You might just find amazing vegetarian or vegan produce as well for those special guests and items you would never have thought of trying. And let's be honest, who can't resist free food samples? Union Square Greenmarket
Days of operation: Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays, and Saturdays year round
Market hours: 8:00am-6:00pm

Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket
Days of operation: Saturdays year round;Thanksgiving week they will be open Wednesday 11/25 and Saturday 11/28

Location: Prospect Park West and Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn (Northwest corner of Prospect Park)
