Step 3: Drinks

drinksWhen guests walk in, what better way to welcome them than with a drink? Below is just one of many drink choices to offer. Make your drinks fit your theme. Don't forget to have a non-alcoholic beverage for those who prefer a warm cup of cider. Peach Sangria Makes 1 1/2 gallons (5.7 L) What you'll need: 9 peaches, pitted 3 cups (720 ml) good quality rum 2 cups (480 ml) freshly squeezed orange juice 2 (750 ml) bottles dry red wine 1 cup (240 ml) peach liqueur 1 cup (200 g) sugar 1 cup (240 ml) hot water 2 lemons, rinds left on, sliced into rounds and seeded Directions: Cut 8 of the peaches into cubes and place them in a drink of dispenser with the rum, orange juice, wine, and peach liqueur; mix and refrigerate. Dissolve the sugar in the hot water and allow it cool. Add the cooled sugar mixture and lemon rounds to the wine mixture and chill for at least 2 hours. Slice the remaining peach very thinly. Transfer the sangria to a pitcher or drink dispenser before serving it cold with a slice of fresh peach in each glass. Tip: For a more fall flavored sangria, add in some pomegranates, some apples, or cinnamon sticks. [Photo via @gary_pics4kicks]
