Roman Polanski's Gstaad hideaway might be the Swiss mountain home generating the most interest these days, but the embattled director should consider seeking privacy in another chalet that would allow him to literally go underground.
Dutch architects from SeARCH and Christian Muller Architects collaborated on the subterranean lair. The basement is a bit forbidding, as are the the stark cement passageways and crawlspace mattresses. And everyone agrees that no Swiss abode is complete without a fondue set and a grandfather clock, both of which seem absent.
But I suppose the stunning mountain views can compensate, along with the house's striking resemblance to Frodo Baggins' pad.
