Science Reveals The One Secret To First Date Success

Thanks to an entire world of dating apps, getting a first date is easy. Making that first date successful, and managing to snag a second one, is the hard part. However, some very important scientific research has emerged to help you through.

According to Psychology Today, there's one key secret to acing your romantic dinner and it only requires you to steer clear of distractions. Yep, attention is the ultimate aphrodisiac, and, as a Gemini (and a woman), I can certainly attest to this. If you've ever been out with a person who kept checking their phone or glancing at the baseball game on the TV behind you, you probably can too.

In studies performed during speed dating sessions, people who showed selective attentiveness to their partner were deemed more attractive than those who didn't. Guys, that means being mindful, listening, and looking at your date in the eyes. Of course, women get more of a chemical kick out of it than men, favoring attentiveness over physical attractiveness.

Researchers speculate that dudes who display a higher degree of mindfulness during their dates tend to be better communicators, and everyone knows the most important part of a healthy relationship is communication!

So next time you're on a date with someone you dig, all you have to do is pay attention.
