$: Dough 2018 Chardonnay, Anderson Valley
The mental block between spending $10-$12 on a bottle of wine and spending over $15 is real, I know. But I promise you: this Chardonnay is worth the extra few bucks if you’re sipping on a shoestring. The product of a collaboration between the James Beard Foundation and MacRostie Winery in Healdsburg, CA, Dough’s 2018 Chardonnay is almost too sessionable, with bright Meyer lemon notes at the palate’s forefront followed by gentle white flower notes and just the right amount of cinnamon and clove. This wine is equal parts crisp and creamy on the finish.
