An Art Piece For All Seasons
I don't know about you, but I've become even more serious about redecorating my apartment since being trapped inside of it. As anyone who's moved into their partner's poorly decorated space will know, shit's rough. Throwing out every piece a foolish single male has moved into his space under the false, crazy belief that it's "totally fine" and not at all horrible is a slow and steady game not for the feint of heart. And I'm not talking tossing away trinkets, I mean getting rid of a living-room sized sofa, coffee table, dining room table, credenza, everything in the bedroom, everything in the office, and then lots more.
As I said, it's a process. But one thing that has actually been easy is artwork. Considering my husband had only one piece of art in the whole apartment - a black and white framed poster of Jackie Gleason leaning over a pool table in The Hustler which will never see the light of day again so long as I live and breath - it's been a pretty blank canvas to work with.
I've always been obsessed with New York high society's chosen artist / the sweetest most kind person you'll ever run into at a party, Hanuk. His pieces are so bright and feel like a forest of colors. His latest series, Spring Favors The Flowers, may just be my favorite of his yet!
