OK, she deserved that
I was a waiter for a summer during university, in a touristy town in New England. It was the kind of restaurant that didn't cater to locals and because of the foot traffic, was rolling in dough. The manager was an amazing dude whom I still have a lot of respect for, especially after he really helped this guy.
This couple sit down and she instantly starts ordering the most expensive items, I'm working a table nearby and can hear her tell the guy that men pay and she loves to be pampered. And she's ordered maybe $500.00 in food. They're young, he looks super stressed out, red-in-the-face, he's pressing his head into his hand as she's talking. Apps start rolling and she'll eat 1 or 2 shrimp from the cocktail and then say "done, thanks!" and then the next... and the next. She's eating MAYBE 10% of every item. She hasn't stopped talking once and is talking really loud. REALLY loud. Guests are complaining.
He's freaking out, she's ordered to mains, one in a to-go container and one to eat. She's poking at her dinner, he's ordered a salad and is purple in the face. He hasn't said more than 4 words, he's visibly upset and other diners are furious because no matter what I or other staff say, she won't quiet down.
Finally, the manager stamps over with her bill, hands it to her and tells her SHE needs to leave. The bill came to like $496 (which at lunch is a tremendous feat) and he stares at her until she pays - she puts like 50% on one credit card, 30% on another, some in cash, etc. She is horrified and leaves.
The guy she's with just sits there like he was hit by a storm. He didn't move for like 5 minutes, so the manager sent him a beer, he sat there sipping there beer and eating the food she left behind. The poor guy just looked totally worn out after that.
