Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, Beach Volleyball

Perhaps the most dominant 2v2 beach volleyball squad of all time, Misty May-Treanor, and Kerri Walsh have ruled the sport since they paired up in 2001. They destroyed the competition in both the 2004 Athens games, as well as the 2008 Beijing games, capturing two straight gold medals. During this stretch the duo was able to put together an unthinkable 112 match winning streak, which was broken shortly after the Beijing games. May-Treanor, and Walsh are now 34, and 33 respectively, and their international dominance has weakened, leaving them ranked #3 heading into the 2012 London games. Nevertheless, the two Americans aren't called "the greatest beach volleyball team of all time" for no reason, so look out for them as they compete for their third consecutive gold. [Photo via]
