Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte

Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, Swimming
The Men's USA swim team boasts two of the top swimmers in the world, Michael Phelps, and Ryan Lochte. The 6'4 185 pound Phelps won six gold medals during the 2004 games, then miraculously topped himself by taking home a record breaking eight golds in Beijing in 2008. He currently holds the all-time record for most Olympic golds, with 14, and will look to add to that total later this summer. The only thing standing in his way is his teammate, and fiercest competitor Ryan Lochte. Lochte himself already has three gold medals on his resume, but he has improved drastically since the 2008 games and will participate in more events this time around. He made a splash at the US Olympic Swim Trials when he edged out Phelps in the 400 meter medley, and then pronounced "That time was not good at all, I'm capable of going way faster." It will be interesting to see which USA swimmer will be taking home more medals when the two go head to head in London. [Photo via]
