McKayla Maroney
-Widely regarded as the best vaulter in the world, McKayla aced her routine at team finals but fell during her performance at the vaulting finals yesterday. Despite the fall, McKayla still took home the silver medal.
-16 year-old McKalya had her dreams come true when her fellow-gymnast and BFF Kyla Ross also made the 2012 Olympic team.
-Has two siblings, Kav and Tarynn, and she often shares pictures of them on her Instagram.
-Raised in California, McKayla has been home-schooled for the past 4 years in order to focus on training.
-Her idol is retired gymnast Carly Patterson.
