Chitralada Royal Villa
For tourists visiting Bangkok, the famed Grand Palace is often one of their first stops. The Grand Palace has all the opulence you would expect from one of the world's great royal residences except for one minor detail: no royalty actually live there. Though Thailand's royal family did live in the Grand Palace until 1925, the King and Queen of Thailand now reside at Chitralada Royal Villa, which is part of the Dusit Palace complex. Visitors need authorization to enter the complex, so it's difficult to get in as a tourist, but you can see much of the grounds from outside the walls.
