Tokyo Imperial Palace

Tokyo Imperial Palace, which is built on the site of the old Edo Castle, is made up of sprawling gardens, a museum, an archive, and is the official home of the Emperor of Japan. Visitors have access to the museum and gardens, but the residence, which is behind guarded walls within the 1.24 sq mile park, can only be viewed from certain spots in the park.
