Yuan, who hails from Shandong Province in China, has revealed that his journey to Silicon Valley had not been easy. As a testament to his tenacity, the tech wiz applied for a U.S. visa eight times before finally getting the go ahead. In an interview with Forbes, Yuan explained his persistence. "I told myself, okay, great. I’ll do all I can until you tell me that I can never come here anymore. Otherwise, I’m not going to stop." Thank god he didn't!
