He founded Zoom in 2011

In 1997, aged 27, Yuan finally moved to the U.S., settling in San Jose, California to work as a coder for another video conferencing company, Webex. He stayed on, eventually becoming lead engineer, until 2011. By then he realized that the software could be improved, and after his bosses rejected his attempts to rebuild Webex, he left to launch his own, superior version. Et voila, Zoom was born (albeit after $3 million in funding and a brief stint under the name "Saasbee" - definitely not as catchy).
