At age 18, Luci Baines Johnson (another LBJ!) also caused quite a stir when she converted to Catholicism -- even the Catholics were upset, since apparently the First Daughter requested a baptism even though she had already received one as an infant. Religious controversies aside, she married Patrick John Nugent a year later at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D. C., and the couple had four children together before divorcing in 1979.
Today, Luci serves as Chairman of the Board at LBJ Asset Management Partners, which she co-founded with husband Ian J. Turpin. She also works with the The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, the American Heart Association, and the Center for Battered Women.
