A wedding in the Rose Garden is a privilege reserved for members of the President's family. And Richard Nixon's elder daughter, Patricia (nicknamed "Tricia"), made good use of that privilege by marrying Harvard Law student Edward Finch Cox on the flowering White House lawns on June 12, 1971. A few years later, Patricia gave birth to her son Christopher, and henceforth withdrew from public life.
A notably private person, Tricia now lives with her husband in Manhattan on the Upper East Side, and currently serves on the board of the Richard Nixon Foundation at the Nixon Library in California.
