The women (and many men) of the world let out a collective sigh on Monday, when the Earth-shattering news that George Clooney was engaged surfaced across media platforms everywhere. To be fair, it's not like any of us would ever actually have a chance with him anyway (although he did totally date a
random waitress once? Granted, she was French and gorgeous), but just who, exactly, is this Amal Alamuddin person who has managed to tame Hollywood's most eligible bachelor? Not fair.
Since she's been the name on everyone's lips this week, we've learned that the Lebanese-British beauty has got some serious brains. She's an international human rights lawyer who has studied at Oxford and NYU Law, and whose clients include possibly the most important person of the 21st century,
Julian Assange. Of course, she also speaks three languages, was named the "
Hottest Barrister in London," and apparently never has a bad hair day. We can sense that *sigh* coming on again.
