GofG Launches In Washington D.C. (The New Hollywood) This Weekend!

by Rachelle Hruska · April 30, 2010

[photo via Politico] Ever since a first family moved into the White House, our nation's capital has been cited as the "New Hollywood." Real life celebrities even seem to be swept away by the action going down in DC. And, after our successful launch of Los Angeles, we figured it was time to jump on the Obama train.  We couldn't think of a better weekend to launch than during this weekend's White House Correspondents' Dinner. Or, as we like to refer to it as: Nerd Prom.

And, although the NY Times will be sitting this one out (they are the only major news organization that doesn't participate in the dinner), GofG will be tagging along and trying to keep up.

From Atlantic Magazine's Pre-Dinner party, to Vanity Fair/Bloomberg's post dinner party, and every Capitol File, and Politico event in between; we hope to come out of the weekend with a better understanding on how the people running our country are running their social lives.

Follow our official (and brand spanking new) Twitter account: @gofgDC for up to the minute coverage at the events surrounding the weekend, or me at @rachellehruska directly.
