Tiger Woods' typically private ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, was in Washington over the weekend for the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner...and even attended a few of the parties.
Elin came as a guest of People magazine, which is also the one and only outlet she interviewed with after her divorce. She made it very clear to the public that it would be her first and last interview. Only peek-a-boo paparazzi shots are published of Elin nowadays.
So, what was Elin doing at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, the ultimate media event? We may never know. The mother of two was almost able to fly below the radar during her entire time here, except for this photo Popsugar instagrammed on Friday at the People/TIME Party, and, well, this photo I snapped of her with my boyfriend before the dinner (which she attended, a source at People told Guest of a Guest). Perhaps People will have more photos and a new story to show in the next upcoming days, but as of now, there is very little online documenting her time in DC.
Elin Nordegren doesn't have a media or showbiz career to advance, although she may still be studying psychology. The meager few grand and hotel suites many Hollywood guests receive would not be enough to entice her to visit; she received a $100 million settlement in her divorce with Woods. One must assume that Elin came to WHCD to have fun...and maybe even hint that she is single and finally ready to mingle.
Elin, of course, has not made any public statements about her ex's very publicized relationship with skier Lindsey Vonn, and neither she nor her billionaire neighbor Chris Cline have commented on the rampant rumors that they are dating.
Woods rolled solo to Michael Jordan's wedding this weekend.
