Although we've loved the glowing structure in the middle of the Mall, the Washington Monument's scaffolding is coming down and reopening soon. When you ask? We got you covered.
The project of the removal is slated to take 2 to 3 months, according to Carol B. Johnson. While the scaffolding is coming down, work will continue to be done on bringing the monument back to its maximum potential.
Visitors will be able to get back into the monument in the spring and see the new exhibition space…just in time for tourist season (bleh).
