The Meridian Ball was quite an experience, and I was thrilled to swap the usual sea of bandage dresses and platform pumps for a sea of glittering gowns and furs.
Across the district, there were devastated Nationals fans, but in the isolated courtyard and ballrooms of the Meridian House, a dazzling group managed to dance through the night, fabulous and unaffected.
