The Kennedy Center Honors
The weekend culminated with an elegant awards show at the Kennedy Center. Caroline Kennedy hosted the ceremony, and Hollywood legends like Robert De Niro were on site to introduce the honorees to the 2,000 guests.
Who Was There: President Barack and Michelle Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Morgan Freeman, David Letterman, Jimmy Page, Dustin Hoffman, John Paul Jones, Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Natalia Makarova, Aretha Franklin, Jimmy Kimmel, Yo-Yo Ma, Lenny Kravitz, Ray Romano, Jack Lew, Jeff Beck, David M. Other Details: The Foo Fighters, Kid Rock and Lenny Kravitz performed Led Zeppelin songs, as three of the band members were honorees--Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page.
Fact: From 1978 until 2002, the ceremony was hosted by Walter Cronkite. It has been hosted by Caroline Kennedy since 2003.
