When ranking The Washingtonian's annual party amongst competing shindigs, we feel very comfortable asserting that Washingtonian's Best of Washington is to food porn as The Playboy Mansion is to, well, porn-porn: the best of the best.

Last night's Best of Washington event went down at the always-classy National Building Museum, and provided ticket-holders with a three hour open-bar, unlimited-food extravaganza. Over fifty restaurants participated in the event.  Culinary treats abounded from:

    Adour

    Againn

    Art & Soul

    BLT Steak

    Citronelle

    Circle Bistro

    Hook

    Lebanese Taverna

    Masa 14

    Poste Moderne Brasserie

    Rasika

    Zaytinya

...and many more. Open bar libations made for excellent culinary accompaniments and an extremely pleased crowd.

The Washingtonian's parties always bring in a fashionable, media-savvy crowd. Wednesday night brought together foodies, oenophiles, and media types alike.

Fueled by upbeat DJ Brian Liu of Toolbox Creative Inc and carnival themed entertainment (this blogger appreciated the stilt-walkers but was rather disappointed when trying her hand at games of strength and aim, although this blame can be placed more on her hand-eye coordination that on The Washingtonian's staff).  Appetizers from the sponsoring restaurants re-upped the energy constantly, leading happy patrons to wine and dine well past a typical Wednesday night bedtime.

This blogger's highlights? Apps from Vidalia and Cava, cocktails from Masa 14, and carafe after carafe of red wine.
