This now-national outfit with 13 stores across the US got its beginnings in New York, but has been a DC favorite for years. While known better as a gourmet grocery shop rather than a coffee bar, the store still serves a delicious cup of coffee and espresso.
If you can, find a seat on their famous outdoor patio near the C&0 Canal--the people watching doesn’t get any better.
