Slide #3
#3 George
[Reed Landry, Jack Evans, Hunter Campbell]
George is the famous and relatively new (2 years old) bar in Georgetown that people can't stop talking about. This bar is a huge hit with beautiful preppy/fratty young Washingtonians, and has pictures of their regulars on their forest green walls.
There are two layers of security to get on the George list. First, you should get on Late Night Shots so you can work your way into their Thursday parties, which are pretty open (no list) and posted in their events section. To get on their weekend list, you have to be recommended by a friend of Reed Landry or Hunter Campbell. These people are typically the ones walking around with George Black Cards--a handful of people with skip-the-line and special drink privileges. I know. It's really complicated, but I didn't say this would be easy.
Your best bet: Keep hitting the Thursday parties until you finally get yourself a good, regular crew--or go with someone on the list.
If you know someone famous inside: Text him or her to come out and help you get in. Otherwise, if you fight with the bouncer and try to name drop, not only will he probably laugh at you, but so will all of the people in line who probably know the person you're trying to name drop. It just doesn't work at George.
If you're rejected: Quickly and quietly get out of everyone's way and head to Martin's or Paolo's. They attract a similar young preppy clientele on Friday and Saturday and there's no list at the door.
