The End Of An Era: Rugby Cafe's Farewell Party

by Lindsay Sustarsic · February 4, 2013

Saturday night was a bittersweet occasion as DC's finest flocked to 1065 Wisconsin Ave to bid farewell to the infamous Rugby Cafe. With throwback jams blasting and Lincoln Pilcher's flow on full display, party-goers spent the evening sipping on crushes and sharing the most ridiculous Rugby stories nobody would ever coherently remember without the trusty security playback footage.

The highlight of the evening was definitely the congregation of so many Rugby patrons that came out of scene retirement to partake in the farewell. With all the Aussies in attendance and some crazy former staff who flew from around the country to attend the festivities, it was one of the most ridiculous reunions Georgetown has ever seen.

Overall, the blowout bash sent the beloved cafe out in style. And for those regulars who thought of Rugby as their clubhouse, the doors may be closed for good, but the spirit of Rugby Food and Spirits will always be crushin' it.
