Instagramming Through DC Drag Queen Race 2012

Thursday night, the DC Drag Queen Race 2012 brought out a lively crowd to 17th Street between P and S. The festivities started promptly at 6pm with the roads closed off to incoming traffic. Like every year, bars and restaurants had many specials to commemorate the special occasion. The race, which started around 9pm, did not last long but was worth the wait: seeing the many Drag Queens running in costumes was a sight! In its 25th edition, this year's race did not happen on the Tuesday before Halloween because of Hurricane Sandy.

After the race, we spotted DC Mayor Vincent Gray talking to many of his constituents. The 2012 DC Drag Queen Race was the perfect conclusion to all Halloween festivities.
