Have you always been a restaurateur?
What influenced you to pursue this line of work? This is the first restaurant I’ve co-owned, although I worked in the catering industry for about 10 years. In 2008, I moved back to DC from Puerto Rico, where I had a marketing and public relations firm. I appeared on Planet Green with Emeril Lagasse on a show called Craving the Caribbean. I always loved cooking and food and the show motivated me to do challenge myself to do something different.
