The Verizon center was packed from wall to wall with eager Jingle Ball fans excited for the slew of talent that made way to the DC this December. The holiday concert began with a performance by Charlie XCX singling her chart topping hit, "Boom, Clap" and continued with stars such as Demi Lovato singing "Really Don't Care," Jason Derulo performing "Talk Dirty," 5 Seconds of Summer singing "Amnesia," Jingle Ball alum, Ariana Grande who performed the festive "Santa Tell Me," and brought out fellow collaborator Jessie J to sing their hit duet "Bang, Bang." In between concert sets, Jingle Ball stars walked the Hot 99.5 red carpet, posing for photos and taking part in interviews. Guest of a Guest joined DC VIP's and local TV/radio stations on the Jingle Ball red carpet for live interviews with some of the all-star performers featured in this year's Jingle Ball!
Charlie XCX shared with us that she is looking forward to spending her New Year's in Dubai after performing in DC twice this year, hot British boy band Rixton opened up about future collaborations saying that they'd love to work with Jingle Ball performers such as Jason Derulo and Ariana Grande, funky pop artist Kiesza talked fashion describing Karl Lagerfeld as the "Andy Warhol of fashion," and how she grew up visiting vintage shops which is how she learned how to put things together, while Jessie J mentioned her favorite online shops to be Net-a-Porter and British department store Selfridges. The gorgeous British pop star also admitted that she would love to do collaborate with Taylor Swift saying: "Just because I don't think I've ever done a song with someone taller than me." Jessie also clued us in on a possible collaboration with Demi Lovato, saying that their fan bases are similar, and they have been in talks to work together in the near future.
The Jingle Ball began around 7pm with performances lasting until 10pm. Hot 99.5’s Jingle Ball 2014 is part of the national iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, the season’s biggest annual music concert that celebrates chart topping singers and the holiday season. Jingle Ball shows have taken place all over the country in cities such as Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami and Tampa, with additional Jingle Ball concert events in Dallas, Seattle, Atlanta and Columbus. While the concert celebrates the holidays and iHeartRadio app, in the spirit of the giving season, the Jingle Ball also donates $1.00 of each ticket sold to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to inspiring today’s youth through entertainment and education focused initiatives.
