Durkl Debuts First Set Of Stunnahs (Shades)

by MADELEINE STARKEY · June 15, 2010

DC's homegrown street wear line, Durkl, is all over town.  Everywhere.  The only person not wearing Durkl is creative director and launcher of the brand Will Sharp (I'm not kidding).  Now, added to the list of Durkl gear: sunglasses.Today, Durkl launched its first pair of sunglasses.  The spectacles, "Main Event" are available online and where ever Durkl is sold.  Part of Durkl's Spring/Summer 2010 collection, the shades are an attempt to expand the line to become more comprehensive; until today, Durkl consisted of jeans, sweaters, and tees.

Durkl has plans to further develop their eyewear line.  Next spring, you can expect to see 2-4 new styles, both classic and futuristic (like Main Event).

The shades are so fly, Durkl felt it imperative to reveal the new piece as photographed on one of DC's dopest.  No, not the biddy in the itty bitty.  I'm talking about Tabi Bonney.

The local celebrity and rising star posed for Durkl in white-on-black color Main Events.  Tabi, who hails from West Africa ("from the country of Togo to the land of go-go" says his MySpace) has wowed crowds in DC and beyond.  Wondering if you've heard his stuff?  Perhaps you recall this diddy:
