Ashley Biden, daughter of Vice President Joe Biden, wed Dr. Howard Krein in a joint Catholic-Jewish ceremony in Wilmington, Delaware over the weekend.
Ashley is a social worker for the Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families. Howard is a New Jersey native, and a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, according to The News-Journal of Wilmington.
The same newspaper reported that they exchanged vows at the same church where Ashley was baptized: St. Joseph on the Brandywine.
It was followed by a reception at the Biden residence in Greenville. There were about 200 guests.
She wore a Vera Wang gown, according to Glamour.
In an official White House statement, her parents Joe and Jill said:
We are pleased to announce that our daughter, Ashley Blazer Biden, married Dr. Howard Krein this evening in Wilmington, Delaware. The private ceremony was attended by the bride and groom’s close family and friends. We’re happy to welcome Howard into our family, and we wish them all the best in their new life together.
They will live in Philadelphia.
