With their decades-long love story, A-list status, and huge bank accounts, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were expected to throw the most glamorous wedding of the year following their surprise Vegas nuptials. But alas, it's time to face the facts: the couple known as Bennifer is, at best, painfully basic.
And while we're sure no expense was spared during their three-day wedding celebration this past weekend, disappointing peeks into the affair show shamelessly corny decorative accents pulled straight from the "Live, Laugh, Love" pages of Pinterest. We're talking wooden signs with sappy quotes in cursive here. Oof.
There was an all-white dress code - a bit gauche for the occasion - and a neon sign reading "Mr. & Mrs. Affleck" serving as a photo op. The lounge areas were decked out in a confusing blend of "rustic" and "Old Hollywood," and the party favors? Rather uninspiring burlap tote bags emblazoned with the bride and groom's initials, J and B.
Then again, the whole thing was held on Ben's actual plantation home in Georgia, so we don't really know what we should have expected. We've literally never used this word before, but plantation weddings are pretty much the definition of "cheugy" - and just, never a good look.
Let's just hope J.Lo's custom Ralph Lauren gown was chic enough to save the day...
